    Series-parallel Automatic Cage Tap Changer
    WSL Series off-circuit changer is used for oil-immersed transformer with no-load tap changer. It is usually of cage type structure. The switch transition type is variable with its inner structure. It has linear regulating, single-bridge stridden over connection, double-bridge stridden over connection, Y-- Delta transition, series--parallel connected transition, positive reverse regulation etc. This tap changer is classified into two types, one called tank head type, the other called bell covered type. The operation method can be classified into two types, one is handled on the tank head or to the grounding, and the other is driven with motor. They are used for power transformer, rectification transformer or furnace transformer in following specification range, rated frequency with 50Hz or 60Hz, rated voltage with 35kV, 66kV and110kV, rated current with 250A~2000A. This type of tap changer can only be operated in transformer under non-energized condition.

    Series-parallel automatic cage off load tap changer can be manufactured in special tap changer with large current, multiple taps, and relatively high voltage according to user requirements. A resistor that is used to limit the circulating current during transition only from one tap position to another. The transition resistor is only utilized in transition. The transition resistor is not designed to carry full load current. The Transition resistor is found only in a resistance type LTC. The transfer switch may also be referred to as the “Diverter Switch”. The transfer switch is used to interrupt the load so the selector switch can change position without arcing. The transfer switch contacts are made of an arc erosion resistant material called Elkonite (copper-tungsten) and is designed to arc (not heat) under normal conditions.
